1. Let's start with opening up the picture you want to colorize.
2. Click on the Polygon Tool and outline the article of clothing that you want to colorize. I'm donig her shirt.
3. Once it's outlined, press ctrl + c and then ctrl + v. you should now have a layer with just the shirt. layers should look like this.
4. Press ctrl + d to select the shirt again. If nothing happens right click on the image next to the shirt layer and click select pixels. See what I mean.
5. Set the layer to color. See what I mean.
6. Go to Image>adjustments>desaturate. The shirt should now be black in white. My shirt was actually already grey. but I made it black and white anyway. lmfao
7. Click on the gradient tool and set the colors you want the shirt to be. I'm doing these.
8. Click and drag the cross across the shirt to do the gradient. See what I mean. (you can drag it any direction)
